JUNE CLASSES

CANNING & FOOD PRESERVATION

THURSDAY, JUNE 8TH  6:00 P.M. - CORN RELISH, SALSA

COST:  $30.00 PER PERSON OR $55.00 FOR SERIES

THURSDAY - JUNE 15TH  6:00 P.M. -  JELLY & JAM

COST: $30.00 PER PERSON OR $55.00 FOR SERIES 

These classes are geared towards that person who has never created a homemade jar of jelly,relish or a novice who wants a solid understanding of the hows, what's, and why's of canning. The first class will teach the basics of canning utilizing a water bath method with corn relish/salsa recipe and the second class will prepare jelly/jam. Patrice Dunagin, County Extension Agent Smith County, Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service will lead the classes. Each participant will receive a jar of canned goods prepared in class.  As this will be a hands on class, please bring an apron.  

 

CAST IRON COOKING

TUESDAY, JUNE 13TH - 6:00 p.m.

Chef Alyssa Wilhite will lead this class covering cast iron: from seasoning your cast iron, cooking, storage and beyond.  We are proud to be a retailer for Finex, a line of cast iron made in Portland, Oregon. Carrie Bolton, Finex representative will be in attendace with information and specials on this great new modern cast iron cookware.  If you are not a devoted fan of cast iron already, this will convert you!
