WHILE WE ARE DRYING OUT FROM OUR SOGGY START TO 2018, SIGNS OF SPRING ARE APPEARING.  FROM THE TULIP TREES TO THE DAFFODILS PEEKING OUT, WE WILL SOON BE ENJOYING ONE OF THE PRETTIEST AND BEST TIMES OF YEAR IN EAST TEXAS.  THE KITCHEN DRAWER HAS WONDERFUL NEW PRODUCTS AND LINES TO REFRESH YOUR KITCHEN THIS SPRING.  WE ARE NOW OFFERING THERMOWORKS  FANTASTIC LINE OF THERMOMETERS AND TIMERS.   THERMOWORKS IS BEST KNOWN FOR THE THERMAPEN, THE GOLD STANDARD FOR INSTANT READ THERMOMETERS.  WE ARE PLEASED TO OFFER BOTH THE MK4 AND THE CLASSIC THERMAPEN IN A VARIETY OF COLORS.  PAMPA BAY  HAS WONDERFUL NEW DESIGNS JUST RIGHT FOR YOUR EASTER TABLE OR FOR GIFTING.  IN THE KITCHEN, WE WILL BE PRESENTING THREE NEW TOPICS IN CLASSES;  SPECIALTY PASTRIES, CRAWFISH, AND SALT-VINEGAR.  SAVE THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR - SATURDAY, MARCH 17TH LONE STAR MOBILE KNIFE SHARPENING  WILL BE BACK AT THE KITCHEN DRAWER TO GET YOUR KNIVES READY FOR SPRING.  WITH THE OPTIONS OF LEAVING YOUR KNIVES WITH PICK UP AT A LATER DATE OR DROPPING BY THE DAY OF WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOP OR DINE AT OUR NEWEST NEIGHBOR IN SWANN PLAZA, THE ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE  WHILE YOU WAIT, THERE'S NO EXCUSE NOT TO TREAT YOUR KNIVES (AND YOURSELF)!

REPAIR OF BROKEN TIPS, CHIPS, OR BOLSTER DAMAGES

STRAIGHT EDGES, ASIAN KNIVES, SERRATED KNIVES  ALL CAN BE SHARPENED.

CUTCO SERRATED KNIVES CANNOT BE RESERRATED.

LOVE THE IDEA OF CREATING SPECIAL PASTRIES  AFTER ENJOYING A CANNOLI, CREAM HORN,  OR POPOVER AT A RESTAURANT? CHEF ALYSSA WILHITE TAKE US THROUGH STEPS TO CREATE THE WONDERFUL PASTRIES ALONG WITH THE CREAM FILLINGS.  NEED A FRESH IDEA  FOR YOUR EASTER MENU?  POPOVERS, PLAIN OR SAVOURY,  WILL BE A GREAT ADDITION FOR SPRING MENUS AND BEYOND.  THE PUFFY BREAD THAT BEGINS AS A SIMPLE BATTER OF EGGS, MILK, BUTTER, AND FLOUR IS A SHOWSTOPPER!

MUDBUGS, CRAWDADS, OR CRAYFISH - HOWEVER YOU REFER TO THEM!  WE LOVE THIS SWEET SUCCULENT MEAT THAT IS SIMILAR IN TASTE AND APPEARANCE TO LOBSTER.  CHEF ALYSSA WILHITE WILL DEMONSTRATE THE VERSATILITY OF THE CRAWFISH WITH A VARIETY OF RECIPES RANGING FROM BISQUE TO ETOUFFEE'.  THE PEAK SEASON FOR CRAWFISH IS MARCH, APRIL, AND MAY SO THE CLASS GIVES YOU A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ALL THINGS CRAWFISH  AND STILL HAVE TIME TO PREPARE FOR FRIENDS WHILE IN PEAK SEASON!

 

SALT-VINEGAR

TUESDAY, MARCH 20TH - 6:00 P.M.

COST: $35.00 PER PERSON

THIS CLASS WILL FOCUS ON TWO VITAL COMPONENTS IN COOKING - SALT AND VINEGAR.  FERMENTATION, PICKLING, SEASONING ARE A FEW OF THE ROLES THESE COMMON INGREDIENTS INCORPORATE FOR COOKS' TODAY.  THE HISTORY, RECIPES, AND SCIENCE WILL BE EXPLORED  BY CHEF ALYSSA WILHITE. A GREAT CLASS FOR UNDERSTANDING SOME OF THE CULINARY CORNERSTONES FOR EVERY LEVEL OF CULINARY SKILL.
