The calendar is saying  June but with our mild weather to date, it seems as though we are having a late spring and are avoiding the heat we usually are experiencing by this time.  We are continuing our cooking class series, "Try Now......Make Later" on the second Thursday of each month.  The classes have covered areas of interest from recipes on Pinterest to Farmers Market produce.  We are the first to admit that most of the recipes tried are winners but there have been a few that did not make the cut!  Chef Alyssa Wilhite has covered technique classes on making fresh mozzarella and fresh pasta during the month of June - if you missed out, these will be offered again in the coming weeks due to popular demand.  The Kitchen Drawer offers kitchen equipment, gadgets and supplies needed for our technique classes  as well as your individual kitchen needs - the culinary store for every cook.

        Some new items in the store for summer include the Packit Freezable Bags.  The bags are available in lunch, wine and grocery; the entire bag freezes to keep food and drinks cool up to 10 hours. Great for those trips to the pool or lake with less mess than a cooler loaded with ice.  Also, melamine pieces from French Bull include spreaders, flexible cutting mats and trays that are a perfect size for appetizers.  The designs are fresh and will give your everyday ware a new look.  The heat will arrive soon enough so let's enjoy outdoor entertaining while we can! 



           THURSDAY, JUNE 26th @ 6P.M. ($35.00 per person) - A unique tasting featuring handmade chocolates by Chocolatier Karen Ream.  The class will provide an overview of chocolate, identify flavor profiles of the various types of chocolate, and sample wine selections that enhance the taste of different forms of chocolate.  There are a few spots left so register now in order to not miss out!


           THURSDAY, JULY 10TH @ 6P.M. - Richard Jones with L.E. Klein Company, distributors of PRIMO Ceramic Grills, will be firing up the grill with tips and techniques for all grillers.  The Bison Portable Rapid Firestarter will also be demonstrated.  If you have ever had to wait on your coals to burn down, you won't want to miss this.  The chimney you once used will be gathering dust after you see the Firestarter in action.  Chef Alyssa Wilhite will be in the kitchen offering recipes to complement your grilling.
